Comparing PRP Gel and UC-MSC Gel for Diabetic Foot Ulcers

Study Summary

A study following 30 patients evaluates the effectiveness of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) gel and umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs) gel in the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs). The study found the UC-MSCs gel group showed markedly better outcomes than the PRP group, including higher wound healing rates, faster wound closure, improved vascular and neurological symptoms and enhanced infection control. These results highlight the potential of UC-MSCs gel as a more effective therapeutic option for DFUs.
