Study Summary

This study investigates whether the viability of lyopreserved amniotic membrane (LAM) is comparable to that of cryopreserved amniotic membrane. Clinically, 48% of study participants achieved wound closure within 12 weeks, and, excluding outliers, most patients exhibited similar wound healing trajectories during LAM treatment, indicating a comparable closure rate between both groups. Overall, the results demonstrate that LAM is a clinically effective alternative to cryopreserved AM, offering the added advantage of simplified storage and handling.
