Study Summary
A prospective study involving 22 patients with Diabetic Foot Ulcers (DFUs) demonstrated that using media files sent via SMS is a reliable method for monitoring patients undergoing Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT). Results underscore the high specificity and sensitivity of remote monitoring through WhatsApp, highlighting its effectiveness in documenting and tracking wound progression and complications in diabetic foot and leg ulcers. This approach offers significant value for healthcare providers, particularly for patients in rural areas or during pandemics.
